General Announcements
In most cases, if you heard an announcement on Eagle Radio, the corresponding information will be on the Copper Country Calendar on the date of the event. In some cases, we also post information on the date of a registration deadline. Some announcements are not calendar-related (they have no specific date), so we post the pertinent information here:

• The U-P Champion Keweenaw Bay Cougars Peewee hockey team is having a can drive to help fund their trip to the State tournament in Escanaba. If you have cans to contribute, call Shelley or Lyndon Ekdahl at 524-5040,   395-6015 or 395-6773.

• White Oak Apartments is sponsoring a food drive for St. Vincent dePaul in L'Anse. Donations may be dropped off weekdays between 10:00 and 3:00 until March 15th.

• The Baraga County Lions' Club is revising the information for next year's birthday calendar. If you know of changes that should be made, please call 353-7574.

• School Districts will be holding kindergarten evaluations and registrations over the next few weeks. If you have a child who will be entering kindergarten in the fall, contact your local school district for the dates and times.

• Applications are now being taken from girls who wish to be considered as the next K-B-I-C Princess. The Princess represents the K-B-I-C at the Summer Powwow and at other events across the region. Candidates must be Tribal members between the ages of 13 and 18. Pick up an application form and get all the requirements at the Tribal Center. The application deadline is March 26th.

• The B-H-K Foundation will be awarding three college scholarships to high school seniors who attended B-H-K pre-school programs. Applications are due by April 5th. Forms and guidelines are available at B-H-K centers.

• State snowmobile trail #133 from Gay to Lac LaBelle remains closed because of logging. As an alternate route up and down the peninsula, snowmobilers can ride to the west using trails #124 and #132.
