SUMMARY:Freedom Monument Installed At Harlow Park
DESCRIPTION:July 4\, 2026  \n11:00am  \nHarlow Park \nThe Freedom Monument podiums have been installed at Harlow Park (corner of W Washington St and N 7th St) within the Veterans Memorial Mall. SUMMARY:Marquette July 4th Parade sponsored by Kiwanis
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Marquette July 4th Parade is special since we celebrate our Nation’s 250th Birthday. \nThe theme for the Parade is One Nation Indivisible – 250 Years. \nParade start time: 2pm at McClellan and Washington. \nAttendees should plan to arrive at 1:15 pm or earlier as the nearby streets are closed then. Parade Float Line up time: 1pm. Attached please find the Staging Area Map and Parade Route. \nTo apply for entering a float or car go online to https://bit.ly/KiwanisMQTParadeApplication or our website marquettefourth.com. We still need 10 more volunteer crossing guards to keep children safe. Apply to Brian or Robert listed below. \nThose with mobility issues are invited to park at the Nicolet Bank parking lot on Lincoln and Washington but need to arrive no later than 1:15pm\, otherwise roads will be blocked. \nKiwanis plans to have 80 floats in the Parade. This is the 31st year that the Marquette Kiwanis Club has sponsored the Parade with the City of Marquette. \nMilitary Veterans will lead the parade along with Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty. \nThis year’s Parade Marshall is Peggy and Peter Frazier who are honored for their extensive community service for Lake Superior Theater. City Mayor Paul Schloegel\, NMU President Chris Olsen and Veteran of the Year\, Mike Tarr\, a local Vet\, will also ride in convertibles. \nWe have a special opportunity to fight hunger: bring canned goods to donate to a Salvation Army float. \nThis year we will have 5 bands and 16 youth floats\, such as the Scottish Pipes and Drums\, High School Band and Dance Team\, NMU Pep Band and the Ahmed Clowns on bikes.  \nThe Press is invited to interview and take a picture of the Parade Marshall and other VIPs at 1:30pm at Washington & McClellan in front of Incredible Bank.  \nWe especially want to thank our financial sponsors who generously covered the cost of the Parade: Travel Marquette\, Marquette Rotary\, First Bank\, Northern Michigan University\, Ojibwa Casino and Nheena Ittner and Neil Cumberlege.   \nWe also want to thank our 65 amazing Kiwanis volunteers and 20 NMU Police Cadets who will be crossing guards. \nThank you for helping celebrate our Nation’s 250 birthday.
