DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 16\, 2026\,  \nfrom 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  \nat the Partridge Creek Community Farm \nThe Ishpeming Lions Club will host its second annual Fruit & Nut Tree Giveaway and Planting Demonstration on Saturday\, May 16\, 2026\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Partridge Creek Community Farm Site located at 550 Cleveland Avenue in Ishpeming\, Michigan.  \nThe free community event will provide Ishpeming residents the opportunity to take home and plant up to three fruit or nut trees after participating in a hands-on planting demonstration and educational session. Organizers will also provide attendees with materials to help protect and nourish their new sapling trees. A total of 120 trees will be available during the event.. \nThe initiative is part of an ongoing community effort to increase access to healthy\, locally grown food while helping address long-term food insecurity throughout the region. \nKeats Dormont\, Education Coordinator for Partridge Creek Farms said “This event is about empowering families and community members with the tools and knowledge to grow food locally for years to come. By planting fruit and nut trees today\, we are investing in a healthier and more sustainable future for our community.” \nThe event is supported by Partridge Creek Farm\, Partridge Creek Compost\, and the Ishpeming High School Horticulture Class. Donations collected during the demonstrations will help sustain and grow the annual program in future years. \nThe event will take place at the Partridge Creek Community Farm Site. Parking will be available in Partridge Creek Farm’s designated gravel parking area directly off Cleveland Avenue. DESCRIPTION:The Ishpeming Lions Club will host its second annual Fruit & Nut Tree Giveaway and Planting Demonstration on Saturday\, May 16\, 2026\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Partridge Creek Community Farm Site located at 550 Cleveland Avenue in Ishpeming\, Michigan. \nThe free community event will provide Ishpeming residents the opportunity to take home and plant up to three fruit or nut trees after participating in a hands-on planting demonstration and educational session. Organizers will also provide attendees with materials to help protect and nourish their new sapling trees. A total of 120 trees will be available during the event. \nThe initiative is part of an ongoing community effort to increase access to healthy\, locally grown food while helping address long-term food insecurity throughout the region. \nKeats Dormont\, Education Coordinator for Partridge Creek Farms said “This event is about empowering families and community members with the tools and knowledge to grow food locally for years to come. By planting fruit and nut trees today\, we are investing in a healthier and more sustainable future for our community.” \nThe event is supported by Partridge Creek Farm\, Partridge Creek Compost\, and the Ishpeming High School Horticulture Class. Donations collected during the demonstrations will help sustain and grow the annual program in future years. \nThe event will take place at the Partridge Creek Community Farm Site.
