DESCRIPTION:The City of Houghton is pleased to announce Winter Wonderland\, a festive community celebration taking place on the downtown pier Friday\, December 5\, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. \n  \nThis annual event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities designed to capture the spirit of the season: \n  \n Santa Claus will greet children\, with a mailbox for letters to the North Pole.\n Sleigh rides will be offered courtesy of VanElsacker Farms\, with support from Visit Keweenaw\, co-sponsor of the evening’s festivities.\n The Portage Lake District Library will host a holiday craft activity for children and families.\n Beloved Frozen characters will be present for meet-and-greet opportunities.\n Complimentary hot cocoa will be available to attendees. \n  \n“Winter Wonderland is a joyful way to kick off the holiday season\,” says Danielle Perkowitz. “It’s a chance for our community to gather\, celebrate\, and create memories together.” \n  \nThe event is free and open to the public.
