SUMMARY:Negaunee Witches Night Out
DESCRIPTION:The Negaunee DDA is announcing their first ever Witches Night Out event to be held in Downtown Negaunee on Saturday\, November 15th\, from 4 pm to 8 pm. This inaugural event spurred from interested local businesses asking\, “why there wasn’t a ladies’ night like other communities have”? This led to some brainstorming and creativity\, resulting in Witches Night Out. \n“This is a fun play on and a less traditional ladies’ night out\, we wanted to be different and catchy! We didn’t want to do the same thing everyone else is doing”\, City Manager Nate Hefron said. \nThe main events for Witches Night Out will include a scavenger hunt. Each participating business will have an “ingredient” to a potion that will need to be gathered. This encourages ladies to visit each of the participating businesses. The ingredients can then be combined into a potion that will be turned in at Strega Nonna for the chance to win the Irontown Proud gift basket. The winner will be announced after 8 pm\, and the night will close out with a drag show at 8:30. \nParticipating businesses will have their own activities onsite for ladies to enjoy. This could include specials\, discounts\, games\, and other fun happenings. Ladies are encouraged to dress up a bit\, go as far as you would like. Maybe just a simple witches’ hat or full transformation\, it’s up to you. Brooms are permitted\, but parking is limited! \nThe DDA invites all ladies to come on out and have some fun in Irontown. Don’t forget to dress up and enjoy our social district as you gather your ingredients to have a chance to win that gift basket. To learn more about Witches Night out\, please visit negauneedda.com. Your fun and adventure awaits you this November in Downtown Negaunee! \nQuestions concerning this release may be directed to the attention of the City Manager\, Nate Heffron at (906) 475-7700 ext. 11.

SUMMARY:NCTA: Little Garlic River Falls Group Hike
DESCRIPTION:Take a hike with us through a beautiful forest of pines and hardwoods to the picturesque Little Garlic River Falls. The hike begins on Harrison Rd/Little Garlic Rd where the spur to the falls begins. We will be hiking the well defined\, 1.2 mile trail to the falls. Upon returning on the same trail\, we will then continue onto the Elliott Donnelly trail along the north bank of the Little Garlic River with vistas of the river below. (Note: we will initially meet at the Elliott Donnelly Trailhead to spot some vehicles.)  \nOur hike will be led by Dennis Fattaleh\, an experienced group hike leader. \nThis hike will cover approximately 5 miles of terrain and is an intermediate hike. This is a good hike for less experienced hikers to build confidence and stamina. Proper hiking boots are required. Expect a few wet spots and plan on 3 to 4 hours of hiking time. Don’t forget to bring water and a snack! Trekking poles can be helpful on this route for those who use them. \nWe’ll meet on Saturday\, October 18th at 10:00 AM at the Elliott Donnelly Trailhead parking lot located on the north side of the Little Garlic River on CR550 (Google Map link here). Reminder: you’ll need a Michigan Recreation Pass to park in the parking lot. From there\, we will load into about half the vehicles to drive 1.6 miles to the parking pullout on Harrison Rd/Little Garlic Rd. Please be open to having fellow hikers in your vehicle to help with staging cars at both ends. \nThis event is limited to 15 participants and advanced registration is required. Please click here to register. Registration will remain open until Friday\, October 17th or until we reach capacity.  \nWe hope to see you there!
