DESCRIPTION:The annual Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Gem and Mineral Show will be held again this year at a new location: the Hancock Middle School at 501 Campus Drive\, Hancock\, MI across from Portage Hospital. Show dates are Friday\, Saturday and Sunday August 7\, 8 and 9. \nAn array of vendors will have gems\, minerals\, fossils\, copper\, and gift items for sale. \nEach day the CCRMC will hold ongoing silent auctions of local mineral and copper samples. \nAll kids will receive a free ‘grab bag’ of mineral samples\, and can prospect with a metal detector to find real Copper Country copper in the mine pit. \nThis year’s special attraction is a real Wooly Rhino Skull. DESCRIPTION:401 East Fair Ave\, Marquette\, MI 49855 \n  \nDates: August 8\, 2026 – August 9\, 2026 \n  \nThe Ore to Shore (O2S) is the third largest point-to-point race in the Midwest\, with riders gearing up at the start line in Negaunee\, where in 1844 iron ore was first discovered in the Superior region. The long distance course travels through Ishpeming\, past towering head frames from the heyday of underground mining\, and then heads north into the beautiful wooded wilderness\, crossing or running along side of the Dead River all the way into Marquette to the Lake Superior shoreline. \n  \nO2S offers various options so all skill levels can get involved! Race options includes\, the 48 mile Hard Rock\, the 28 mile Soft Rock\, 10 mile Shore Rock\, 4 mile Junior Rock\, and 1 mile Little Rock. \n  \nThe registration window opens January 2025\, and all participants must be registered in advance\, as there will not be registration the morning of the race. \n  \nBe Kind and Lend a Hand.
