Marquette Area Chapter of the NCTA

The next general membership meeting of the Marquette Area Chapter of the North Country Trail will be September 2, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. in the Community Room (downstairs) at Peter White Public Library.

This month’s program will feature a presentation by John Frick about his hiking adventure in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Known for its monasteries, fortresses, welcoming people, and stunning landscapes, Bhutan is a destination few have the chance to experience. In 2019, John and two friends trekked through hills, mountains, rice paddies, towns, villages, and monasteries in this “Land of the Thunder Dragon.” Come hear John share stories and photos from this remarkable journey.

The meeting will include board elections and an update from trail crew leaders on the state of the trail in our region. Attendees will also learn about future chapter group activities and various volunteer opportunities.
