NCTA: Little Garlic River Falls Group Hike

October 18 @ 10:00 am

Take a hike with us through a beautiful forest of pines and hardwoods to the picturesque Little Garlic River Falls. The hike begins on Harrison Rd/Little Garlic Rd where the spur to the falls begins. We will be hiking the well defined, 1.2 mile trail to the falls. Upon returning on the same trail, we will then continue onto the Elliott Donnelly trail along the north bank of the Little Garlic River with vistas of the river below. (Note: we will initially meet at the Elliott Donnelly Trailhead to spot some vehicles.)

Our hike will be led by Dennis Fattaleh, an experienced group hike leader.

This hike will cover approximately 5 miles of terrain and is an intermediate hike. This is a good hike for less experienced hikers to build confidence and stamina. Proper hiking boots are required. Expect a few wet spots and plan on 3 to 4 hours of hiking time. Don’t forget to bring water and a snack! Trekking poles can be helpful on this route for those who use them.

We’ll meet on Saturday, October 18th at 10:00 AM at the Elliott Donnelly Trailhead parking lot located on the north side of the Little Garlic River on CR550 (Google Map link here). Reminder: you’ll need a Michigan Recreation Pass to park in the parking lot. From there, we will load into about half the vehicles to drive 1.6 miles to the parking pullout on Harrison Rd/Little Garlic Rd. Please be open to having fellow hikers in your vehicle to help with staging cars at both ends.

This event is limited to 15 participants and advanced registration is required. Please click here to register. Registration will remain open until Friday, October 17th or until we reach capacity.

We hope to see you there!
