Dollar Bay Preschool registration is open! Children who will be 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to be a part of this outstanding program. The Dollar Bay Preschool follows the school year calendar, from the second week of September through the first week of June, and class is in session 8:25-3:30 Monday through Thursday each week, with free breakfast, snack, and lunch provided every day. Wild Ones Native Plant Sale The Wild Ones Keweenaw chapter is offering a selection of over two dozen native plants to get you gardening for butterflies, birds, and pollinators. NMU Hosts High School Dance Intensive and North Coast Dance Festival

Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Summer Dance Intensive for high school intermediate- to advanced-level dancers July 13-27. Participants will attend sessions led by prominent industry professionals from Giordano Dance Chicago, Ballet Project OC of California, a former Broadway touring company member and others. They will also perform alongside the two visiting ensembles and NMU CO/LAB Dance Company during the North Coast Dance Festival, which consists of a masterclass and two public performances. Eagle Mine Free Public Tours

Eagle Mine to offer Free Public Tours of Facilities CHAMPION, Mich., April 22, 2025—A series of public tours of Eagle Mine facilities will be offered during the summer. Tour locations will alternate between the Eagle Mine in Big Bay and the Humboldt Mill in Champion on Thursdays from July to September. Houghton – A Good Trouble Rally

A Good Trouble Rally is scheduled from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 17th, by Keweenaw Indivisible, and we are joining them.   Please bring a water bottle, dress appropriately for the weather, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. And spread the word! In support of the Good Trouble Rally at Houghton’s Veterans Park at 4:00 pm, a MotorMarch is being staged.  Meet at the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship parking lot at 3 pm to decorate your car.  Participants will decorate their private vehicles with signs or slogans drawn on side windows with “windshield markers.”

July 17th – Pasi Lautala Family:  Trio Tumpelot & Majority Finn   7pm at the Chassell Heritage Center   Trio Tumpleot plays folk and dance hall music from Finland and elsewhere.  The trio consists of Pasi lautala on accordion and vocals, Meg Pachmeyer on bass and Anna Gawboy on concertina.  Majority Finn consists of Pasi, Olivi and Ansel Lautala and Mag Pachmeyer playing Finnish music from the Last century to today, including originals written by the band members.
