Dollar Bay Preschool Registration is OPEN

Dollar Bay Preschool registration is open! Children who will be 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to be a part of this outstanding program. The Dollar Bay Preschool follows the school year calendar, from the second week of September through the first week of June, and class is in session 8:25-3:30 Monday through Thursday each week, with free breakfast, snack, and lunch provided every day. Interested parents can simply go to the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City School website for the links to register. NMU Hosts High School Dance Intensive and North Coast Dance Festival

Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Summer Dance Intensive for high school intermediate- to advanced-level dancers July 13-27. Participants will attend sessions led by prominent industry professionals from Giordano Dance Chicago, Ballet Project OC of California, a former Broadway touring company member and others. They will also perform alongside the two visiting ensembles and NMU CO/LAB Dance Company during the North Coast Dance Festival, which consists of a masterclass and two public performances. Eagle Mine Free Public Tours

Eagle Mine to offer Free Public Tours of Facilities CHAMPION, Mich., April 22, 2025—A series of public tours of Eagle Mine facilities will be offered during the summer. Tour locations will alternate between the Eagle Mine in Big Bay and the Humboldt Mill in Champion on Thursdays from July to September. Poetry and Book Arts Workshop with Cindy Hunter Morgan

Tuesday-Thursday (July 22-24, 2025).  10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Teens. Poet and Book Artist Cindy Hunter Morgan will lead this three-day workshop, which will begin with a generative writing workshop and include instructions and materials to complete a book structure to hold the work you create. Participants will meet for two hours each day for these workshops. All materials will be provided. Registration is limited to twelve (12) participants. No admission charge. Chassell Heritage Center Summer Program

July 24th – Mat Moore – Charles H. Worcester, Artist and Chassell Lumberman   7pm – Chassell Heritage Center   In the early 1900s, Worcester owned the Chassell Sawmill and maintained a summer residence until his death in the 1950s.  His main residence was in Chicago where he was a major benefactor of the Art Institute of Chicago.  This talk will explore his ties to both Chassell and Chicago.
