NMU Hosts High School Dance Intensive and North Coast Dance Festival

Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Summer Dance Intensive for high school intermediate- to advanced-level dancers July 13-27. Participants will attend sessions led by prominent industry professionals from Giordano Dance Chicago, Ballet Project OC of California, a former Broadway touring company member and others. They will also perform alongside the two visiting ensembles and NMU CO/LAB Dance Company during the North Coast Dance Festival, which consists of a masterclass and two public performances. Eagle Mine Free Public Tours

Eagle Mine to offer Free Public Tours of Facilities CHAMPION, Mich., April 22, 2025—A series of public tours of Eagle Mine facilities will be offered during the summer. Tour locations will alternate between the Eagle Mine in Big Bay and the Humboldt Mill in Champion on Thursdays from July to September. Tours of the Eagle Mine will be offered on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: June 19, July 10, July 24, August 7, August 21, September 4, and September 18. Poetry and Book Arts Workshop with Cindy Hunter Morgan

Tuesday-Thursday (July 22-24, 2025).  10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Teens. Poet and Book Artist Cindy Hunter Morgan will lead this three-day workshop, which will begin with a generative writing workshop and include instructions and materials to complete a book structure to hold the work you create. Participants will meet for two hours each day for these workshops. All materials will be provided. Registration is limited to twelve (12) participants. No admission charge.
