    Keep Our Republic and Michiganders for Civic Resilience, two non-partisan organizations, have partnered together for a “Northern Michigan Community Conversation Tour,” which will include stops in Marquette and Escanaba on Aug. 28. The tour, which is being held Aug. 27-29, will offer residents a deeper understanding about the elections process and what happens after voters cast their ballots. This a free event for the public.     UNVEILING OF THE CITY’S NEWEST PUBLIC ART SCULPTURE ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings’ stone sculpture to be installed in Marquette, MI Marquette, MI ­- The City of Marquette announces the installation of the ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings’ sculpture by artist Jason Quigno to occur Friday, September 6th. The sculpture has been commissioned by the City of Marquette Public Art Commission. Quigno, an Anishinaabe contemporary stone sculptor and tribal citizen of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, has carved seven locally quarried boulders to represent each of the Seven Grandfathers and the teachings they offer.
