KBIC Health System will be hosting our Sports Physical days for children participating in school sports for the 2026-2027 school year.  Please call ahead and schedule your child for their sports physical.   Appointments can be scheduled from June 22nd to August 7th.  To schedule your appointment or with any questions, please call 353-8700.   Please pick up a sports physical form to fill out before your child’s appointment. Each child will receive a goodie bag and water bottle with their sports physical.  Children up to date on their immunizations will receive an extra gift.

Middle schoolers invited to Heads UP, July 21 in Hancock Copper Shores Community Health Foundation has partnered with UP Health System – Portage for Heads UP – a Youth Wellbeing Event, an exciting day of food, fun and fitness for students entering grades five through eight. The Copper Country Community Band (CCCB) is rallying the community for a deeply personal cause. On Monday, July 13th, at 7:30 PM, the band will host a benefit concert at the historic Calumet Theatre to support one of its founding members, Bill “Benji” Brotherton, and his wife, Annie, as they navigate a challenging health crisis.   For over half a century, Benji Brotherton has been a cornerstone of the local music scene. The Keweenaw National Historical Park Advisory Commission will convene for its quarterly meeting at 1 p.m. on July 14. The meeting will be held in-person at Keweenaw National Historical Park Headquarters building, located at 25970 Red Jacket Road. This is the corner of Red Jacket Road and Hwy. US-41 in Calumet. The meeting will include an update on the work of the commission and the National Park Service during the last quarter, discussion of plans and projects for this summer and fall, and will allow time for questions, requests, and comments from members of the public.
