    Northern Michigan University will host the 2025 Indigenous Perspectives Symposium on Food, a full-day gathering focused on uplifting Indigenous food systems, cultural knowledge and community health. The event takes place Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Northern Center on campus.   This symposium brings together Indigenous knowledge keepers, tribal food sovereignty leaders, scholars, students and community members to engage in deep dialogue and hands-on learning. Through presentations, workshops, panels and culinary experiences, the event explores the living relationships between land, food, identity and resilience.     Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its production of The Rocky Horror Show Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 23-25, in Forest Roberts Theatre.  The show will be directed by NMU Theatre and Dance alumna Maisie James (’25) under the mentorship of assistant professor Kaitlyn Frotton.
