    17-Mile Walk from Knotty Pine to Up North Lodge to Benefit UP Pink Power On Saturday, April 26th, 2025, join us for a 17-mile walk from the Knotty Pine to the Up North Lodge to support UP Pink Power, a dedicated organization focused on helping residents of the Upper Michigan with catastrophic events in their life. Participants will embark on a 17-mile walk that will include over 25 pit stops and a lunch at the half way point, united in the cause of raising awareness and funds for UP Pink Power.     UP Rainbow Pride (UPRP) is excited about hosting two events in April aimed at building community and offering a safe, affirming, and social space for the LGBTQIA+ community in Marquette County and beyond. The aim of these events is to create an all-ages space where LGBTQIA community members and allies can celebrate fellowship and fabulousness. UPRP will also be hosting a Community Potluck on Saturday, April 26th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lost Creek Kitchen in Marquette.     Wilderness Walk Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm Paavola Wetlands Nature Area – Off No. 9 Road in Paavola Location The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages including families and children. The nature area contains miles of hiking trails suitable for visitors of all accessibility. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.

    Let’s Eat Free Community Meal from 4:00pm to 5:30pm It’s provided and prepared by the Michigan Tech unit of Circle K and served with the help of the Sigma Rho fraternity of Chassell. Additional funding was also provided by DP Construction which is also based in Chassell. Our thanks go out to all of these folks. The menu Circle K is planning is chicken and cheese quesadillas with corn and apples as well as a dessert.     The event is sponsored by the Let’s Eat organization and the preparation will be done by its original organization members and the Sisters of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Chassell, a long-time supporter of our program. The menu includes Sloppy Joes, one of our all-time favorites, vegetables, dessert and fruit. And, of course, the meal is free to all guests and takes place between 4 and 5:30 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on US-41 on April 27.
