Monday & Tuesday, August 17 & 18, 2026. 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Peter White Public Library Shiras Room. Adults, Seniors, Teens. In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. August’s Writer: Jonathan Johnson. Celebrated poet/writer Jonathan Johnson leads a two-day generative writing workshop for all genres and skill levels of participants. Johnson’s work have been anthologized in Best American Poetry, published widely in literary magazines, and read on National Public Radio. Space is limited to 15 participants, so register early. Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting CPR Training on Monday, August 17 and Monday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Training costs $55 per person, with a maximum capacity of eight people. The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/Blended Learning training program includes first aid, CPR and AED instruction in a preliminary online course (that will take about two hours to complete), followed by a hands-on, in-person skills session with trainers that will take about two hours.
