• NMU Hosts High School Dance Intensive and North Coast Dance Festival

    Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Summer Dance Intensive for high school intermediate- to advanced-level dancers July 13-27. Participants will attend sessions led by prominent industry professionals from Giordano Dance Chicago, Ballet Project OC of California, a former Broadway touring company member and others. They will also perform alongside the two visiting ensembles and NMU CO/LAB Dance Company during the North Coast Dance Festival, which consists of a masterclass and two public performances. The first week of the summer intensive will feature day-long classes to hone dance skills. Week two will include sessions

    The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market will be turning the 100 block of W. Washington St. into a festive Night Market where you will find over 60 vendors gathered to exhibit their locally grown, collected, and crafted products. Stop by every Wednesday night from 5 pm – 8 pm to enjoy the local farmers, bakers, artisans, musicians, and more!

Wilderness Walk Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Gratiot River County Park., Allouez, MI The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages including families and children. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.

    A Good Trouble Rally is scheduled from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 17th, by Keweenaw Indivisible, and we are joining them.   Please bring a water bottle, dress appropriately for the weather, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. And spread the word! In support of the Good Trouble Rally at Houghton’s Veterans Park at 4:00 pm, a MotorMarch is being staged.  Meet at the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship parking lot at 3 pm to decorate your car.  Participants will decorate their private vehicles with signs or slogans drawn on side windows with “windshield markers.”
