Northern Michigan University’s Platform Personalities organization will host actor Max Greenfield of “New Girl” and “The Neighborhood” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in the Northern Center Grand Ballroom.  Greenfield is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor best known for his iconic role as Schmidt in the hit comedy series “New Girl.” His portrayal of the fast-talking, sharply dressed, and hilariously self-assured character earned him widespread critical acclaim and a devoted fan following. This year’s Spring Lyceum will feature snowboarder, recent Olympian, and 2022 Olympics Gold Medalist, Nick Baumgartner.    There will be school performances on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 April, with a community performance in Kaufman Auditorium on the evening of Wednesday 8 April at 7 p.m.

MARQUETTE – The “big bear” of Upper Peninsula festivals returns for its twelfth year after taking a brief hiatus in 2025 due to the opening of The Trestle Building. Ore Dock Brewing Company’s Festival of the Angry Bear is a spirited and much anticipated street festival that has become an annual spring tradition in downtown Marquette. Since its founding in 2014, the festival has evolved into a weekend long celebration as thousands of enthusiastic (and often fur-clad) celebrators gather to “wake the bear” and shed their winter fur in downtown Marquette. “After taking 2025 off so we could focus on
