When: 2026.09.11-13 Where: City of Marquette City of Marquette residents are invited and encouraged to participate in the communitywide “Trash to Treasure Weekend” beginning Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13. The purpose of the program is to provide a venue for the recycling of reusable household items such as furniture, lamps, electronics and other working household items. The program is designed to increase awareness of recycling by creating an alternative means of reusing items that would otherwise end up in the landfill.    Guidelines: Residents can place reusable/serviceable items in front of their house on the curb no earlier

Tuesdays, September (1, 8, 15, 22, 29) 2026. 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Fridays, September (4, 11, 18, 25) 2026. Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room.  Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two weekly, in-person mindfulness meditation programs. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices. On the anniversary of 9-11 attacks, join Peter White Public Library in the screening of this powerful film documenting the lives of seven young people who lost their fathers on that day. Rated TV-14. Saturday, September 12, 2026. 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Studio 1.  Toss it? No way! The Repair Café is back thanks to a partnership with the Marquette Sustainability Coalition. Bring in broken household goods such as appliances, clothing, or bikes and skilled fixers will assist you in repairing them. Saturday, September 12, 2026. 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room.  PWPL will be accepting gently used & clean Halloween costumes and dress-up apparel for this swap. Families can attend the costume swap on Saturday, September 12 and look for a new-to-you costume! No admission charge, costumes are all free. Drop off gently used and clean costumes to the Teen Zone or Youth Services from now -September 11. All Costumes will be free of charge.  No donation needed to attend the swap.
