  • Marquette Trail 50 Ultramarathon

      The Marquette Trail 50 is an ultramarathon (a foot race with distances beyond the marathon distance of 26.2 miles) along some of Marquette’s most scenic and pristine trails. The Marquette Trail 50 consists of a 50-kilometer and 50-mile event held on Saturday and a 5K and kids mile on Friday. The course is mostly single-track, climbing the 4 peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback. Don’t wait, register today!     Hancock School Public Library’s Big Annual Used Book Sale Aug 15-16 and *new* Puzzle Swap Aug 15   The Friends of the Portage Lake District Library will be hosting a two-day Used Book Sale at the Hancock School Public Library.   • Free ORV Weekend Michigan

    August abounds with outdoor summer fun The DNR offers a variety of ways to enjoy Michigan’s natural and cultural resources next month, so get ready to soak up some summer fun! Here’s just a sampling – get the full list at Michigan.gov/DNRCalendar. Free ORV Weekend   Residents and out-of-state visitors legally can ride Michigan’s 4,000 miles of off-road vehicle trails and routes and the state’s six scramble areas on two back-to-back days (Aug. 16-17) without an ORV license or trail permit.   • Backpack SOS (Support Our Students)

    Silver Creek Church 219 Silver Creek Rd, Marquette, MI, United States

    Marquette – Backpack SOS (Support Our Students) will take place on Saturday, August 16 at Silver Creek Church. Starting at 9AM and going until 11AM, this drive-thru event requires no pre-registration. School-aged children (preschool through 12th grade) will receive backpacks, school supplies, a toothbrush, & clothing vouchers for Silver Creek Thrift. Families are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow the directions of the parking lot team.   • Classic Cars and Bikes on Third

    Now in its seventh year, Classic Cars on Third Street is a community event presented by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority in partnership with the Women’s Center of Marquette County. The show runs on North Third Street, from Ohio Street to Park Street. Street closures will run from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Rockland – 42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair

    42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site this Sunday, August 17th to experience a piece of history at the 42nd Annual Craft Fair. The free event will take place on the grounds of the historic copper mining village just outside of Rockland from 10 am to 5 pm. Three of the four restored cabins and the sauna will be open for self-guided tours free of charge for the event.
