    Date: September 5, 2026 The Marquette Marathon is run on a point-to-point course through beautiful Marquette County, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The start is in the heart of the small iron mining town, Ishpeming, which means “heaven” in Ojibwa. The course then follows the Iron Ore Heritage Trail down into Marquette. The Marquette Marathon will finish at the Superior Dome. The Marquette Marathon has a history dating back to the late 1970’s.
