• World Walleye Championship Returns to Gladstone: A Premier Fishing Event with Community Impact

    The City of Gladstone is set to host the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) Qualifier on July 18 and 19, marking a significant event for both the local community and competitive fishing enthusiasts. It is organized in partnership with and sponsored by the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Gladstone, Hannahville Indian Community, the Bays de Noc Sportsfishermen, and Visit Escanaba. The televised catch-and-release fishing tournament is expected to draw professional anglers, media attention, and economic benefits to the area.     Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will host its Wildcat Performing Arts Academy Summer Dance Intensive for high school intermediate- to advanced-level dancers July 13-27. Participants will attend sessions led by prominent industry professionals from Giordano Dance Chicago, Ballet Project OC of California, a former Broadway touring company member and others. They will also perform alongside the two visiting ensembles and NMU CO/LAB Dance Company during the North Coast Dance Festival, which consists of a masterclass and two public performances.
