    Marquette – Backpack SOS (Support Our Students) will take place on Saturday, August 16 at Silver Creek Church. Starting at 9AM and going until 11AM, this drive-thru event requires no pre-registration. School-aged children (preschool through 12th grade) will receive backpacks, school supplies, a toothbrush, & clothing vouchers for Silver Creek Thrift. Families are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow the directions of the parking lot team.     Now in its seventh year, Classic Cars on Third Street is a community event presented by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority in partnership with the Women’s Center of Marquette County. The show runs on North Third Street, from Ohio Street to Park Street. Street closures will run from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site this Sunday, August 17th to experience a piece of history at the 42nd Annual Craft Fair.   • Public Input On Marina Fiscal Policy

    The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking public input on the Marina Fiscal Policy. City Staff have recognized a significant increase in marina-related costs and capital improvements. To offset costs and mitigate the financial burden on the City, incremental increases in fees are being proposed. Those who are interested in providing input may do so during the two public comment periods at the August Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee meeting.
