Two Tours Offered Wednesday, October 1, 1:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. The concept of “forest forensics” was coined by Tom Wessels and means to look for clues on land to understand human, climatic, and geologic actions that shaped a forest. We are thrilled to partner with MSU Extension’s Forestry and Natural Resources Educator, Anna Ellis, to take a hike at Old Towne in Negaunee. Once a neighborhood, the “caving grounds” are now a forest with a fascinating past. Meet at Jackson Mine Park Pavilion. Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will present Into the Woods, a fantasy musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, Sept 25-27 and Oct 2-4. This “darkly enchanting” production blends familiar fairy tale characters with profound themes of desire, consequence and hope. “Into the Woods begins with characters everyone recognizes, like Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood, but Act II gets, as most Sondheim pieces do, much more mature and more personal,” said director Paul Truckey. “Everybody goes into the woods at some point in their life, and this show explores what happens when you do.”

Thursdays, October (2 & 23), 2025. 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Youth Services Makerspace.  Youth of all ages who are interested in Pokémon card trading and gaming are invited to our new monthly Pokémon Trading & Gaming Sessions. Kids who attend will be able to trade & play the card game with other kids. Kids will also be able to spend time with other Pokémon fans, chatting about Pokémon and looking through their cards. Important – Trading & gaming will be kid led. It is highly recommended that parents do not allow their children to bring
