L’Anse – Paint the Field Blue Event

September 26 @ 7:00 pm

Baraga County Communities That Care invites the community to join us for a powerful evening of awareness, remembrance, and hope at the Paint the Field Blue event on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the L’Anse High School football field, home of the L’Anse Hornets.

This special high school football game will highlight suicide prevention efforts in our community. In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, players will wear blue socks and cheerleaders will wear blue bows—the color symbolizing suicide awareness and prevention. Before the game, there will be a memorial ceremony and a keynote message from Jeff Olson, founder of the Do It for Daniel organization, who has shared his family’s story across the country to inspire hope, raise awareness, and encourage open conversations about mental health and suicide.

“You are not alone.”

This event is more than a football game—it’s about creating a culture of care, promoting resilience, and showing our youth and community members that help is available and hope is real. By joining together, we can reduce stigma, strengthen connections, and save lives.
