City of Houghton “Winter Wonderland”

The City of Houghton is pleased to announce Winter Wonderland, a festive community celebration taking place on the downtown pier Friday, December 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

This annual event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities designed to capture the spirit of the season:

 Santa Claus will greet children, with a mailbox for letters to the North Pole.
 Sleigh rides will be offered courtesy of VanElsacker Farms, with support from Visit Keweenaw, co-sponsor of the evening’s festivities.
 The Portage Lake District Library will host a holiday craft activity for children and families.
 Beloved Frozen characters will be present for meet-and-greet opportunities.
 Complimentary hot cocoa will be available to attendees.

“Winter Wonderland is a joyful way to kick off the holiday season,” says Danielle Perkowitz. “It’s a chance for our community to gather, celebrate, and create memories together.”

The event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend and enjoy an evening of holiday lights, community spirit, and seasonal activities along the waterfront.
