Public Forum “Working towards Sustainable Materials Management and a circular Economy in the Copper Country”

April 12 @ 10:30 am11:30 am

The Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (KUUF) will host a free public forum online titled “Working towards Sustainable Materials Management and a Circular Economy in the Copper Country” on Sunday, April 12 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Jonathon Nagel, executive director of the Copper Country Recycling Initiative, will introduce the principles of sustainable materials management, helping participants understand how the products and resources we use every day are part of a much larger system. We will discuss efforts across the Copper County to support sustainable materials management and promote circular economies. A circular economy is an economic model that aims to eliminate waste and promote sustainability through reuse and resource efficiency.
Nagel previously worked in municipal planning for the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, where he focused on sustainable materials management, environmental policy and green building. He is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he majored in political science, with minors in development and business.
Forums are approximately one hour long. The public is invited to participate.
