This July, Kestner Waterfront Park will transform into a world of knights, magic, and high‑flying spectacle as the Kingdom of Wonders Medieval Circus brings its acclaimed Renaissance‑themed show to Houghton. The production offers free admission for every performance, creating an accessible and family‑friendly highlight for the summer season.
The Kingdom of Wonders is a theatrical, story‑driven circus that replaces animals and traditional clown acts with immersive storytelling, acrobatics, aerial artistry, juggling, and comedy. Audiences follow a brave knight and his sidekick as they attempt to reclaim the kingdom from a mischievous witch and her dragon. The show blends modern circus performance with the charm of medieval fantasy, creating a lively experience for all ages.
Performances run July 4 through July 9 at Kestner Waterfront Park. Showtimes are 3:00 PM on Saturday, 3:00 and 6:00 PM on Sunday, and 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday.
A Renaissance Adventure for All Ages
The Kingdom of Wonders has earned praise across Michigan for its colorful characters, high‑energy stunts, and family‑centered atmosphere. The 100‑minute performance includes a 15‑minute intermission and is designed to keep both children and adults engaged from start to finish. The show features aerial silks, balancing acts, juggling, comedy, and theatrical scenes that bring the Queen’s court to life.
Free Tickets and Community Focus
All tickets are free. The circus operates on a donation‑supported model to ensure that every family can enjoy live entertainment regardless of budget. Seating is first‑come, first‑served, and doors open 30 minutes before each performance. Concessions and merchandise will be available on site.
