Annual Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Gem and Mineral Show

August 7August 9

The annual Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Gem and Mineral Show will be held again this year at a new location: the Hancock Middle School at 501 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI across from Portage Hospital. Show dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 7, 8 and 9.

An array of vendors will have gems, minerals, fossils, copper, and gift items for sale.

Each day the CCRMC will hold ongoing silent auctions of local mineral and copper samples.

All kids will receive a free ‘grab bag’ of mineral samples, and can prospect with a metal detector to find real Copper Country copper in the mine pit.

This year’s special attraction is a real Wooly Rhino Skull. In presentations on Friday and Saturday at 4:00 pm, geologist and author Dr. Nathalie Brandes will discuss the details about this fascinating creature, what it ate, where it lived and why their remains are not found in Michigan.

Admission to the show is free, and every attendee is eligible for door prizes.

Friday Aug 7 – 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday Aug 8 – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday Aug 9 – 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
