Calumet – 3rd Annual LGBTQ+ Celebration

Local LGBTQ+ pride event, Keweenaw Pridefest, is returning for a third year on Saturday, June 7 at the Calumet Colosseum. The free, all-ages event will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and is open to the public, rain or shine.
The theme of Keweenaw Pridefest 2025 is Community Unity. The theme represents the importance of supporting one another as a community.
“We’re in this together,” said Keweenaw Pridefest organizer Emily Stanton. “The Keweenaw is an incredible place. When we stand united, our community thrives. This year will be even bigger and better than in years past. We are excited to see our event grow into something we had never expected, and we are looking forward to more community involvement and partnerships.”
Keweenaw Pridefest will have live music, tabling from local organizations, a photo booth, food trucks, and free face painting and balloon art. In the spirit of community unity, there will be a donation drive for the Calumet Free Fridge at the event, along with a clothing swap. Shelf stable food, toiletries, winter jackets, boots, and toys are sought.

Agenda Highlights:
Live Music: There will be performances from Michigan artists such as The Bootstrap Boys, The Make Believe Spurs, Mike Maple of Liquid Mike, and Bees! Bees! Bees! Bees! Bees!
Food Trucks: Food will be available for purchase from Bosio Biscuit Co. and 7 Wonders Chuckwagon. There will be a limited amount of bottled water and prepackaged snacks free of charge.
Activities: There will be live music, a clothing swap, free face painting, free balloon art, community organization tabling, a photo booth, and the donation drive for Calumet Free Fridge.
Organizations Present: Local organizations, such as Baraga County Shelter Home, Free Mom Hugs, Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds, Copper Country Humane Society, and Copper Shores Outreach & Education, will be sharing information with attendees at community tables.
