The Copper Country League of Women Voters (LWVCC) will hold their annual meeting Saturday, May 10, 11am-2pm at the The Skyline Commons, formerly known as the Jutila Center in the old hospital chapel, 200 Michigan St., in Hancock. The annual meeting will begin with a presentation titled “What Is Ranked-Choice Voting & the Michigan Rank MI Vote Ballot Proposal?” from 11:15-noon, followed by a buffet lunch and the annual business meeting.

The guest speaker will be Lisa Nelson, a Copper Country League of Women Voters member and a member of the UP Rank MI Vote team. She will explain ranked-choice voting, a system that allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference. She will also talk about a proposed statewide ballot measure to adopt ranked-choice voting for all state and federal elections.
