    NMU Seaborg Center Offers Kids ‘Summer of STEM’ Northern Michigan University’s Glenn T. Seaborg Mathematics and Science Center will host a series of summer programs for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. These programs are designed to foster curiosity, creativity and career exploration through immersive, hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Summer College for Kids, open to students in grades K–8, provides engaging educational opportunities. Grades K–6 will explore topics such as LEGO robotics, coding fundamentals and other STEM-related subjects through hands-on, minds-on classes.   • Marquette – Youth Sailing Lessons

    Youth Sailing Lessons Offered this Summer   The Marquette Junior Yacht Club will again offer youth sailing lessons this summer to the public. The program will provide the basic fundamentals of sailing for beginner ages 8-17 and expanded skill training for returning intermediate sailors. Instruction takes place both on and off the water by certified sailing instructors at the Marquette Yacht Club location, E Main Street, Marquette.     MARQUETTE, MI- The first market of the Downtown Marquette Wednesday Night Farmers Market 2025 season is next Wednesday, June 11, from 5 PM – 8 PM on the 100 block of W.. Washington St. The Wednesday Evening Farmers Market is shutting down the 100 block of W. Washington St. in Downtown Marquette to bring the festive summer experience to the market and to the downtown every Wednesday this summer season. The Street closes at 3 pm and opens again at 9 pm.   • Negaunee City Band Concert

    The Negaunee City Band plays its first concert of the 2025 season on Wednesday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Performing Arts Center at the east end of Iron Street. The band will play weekly through August 6, with all concerts scheduled for Wednesday evenings.  Some seating is available, but attendees may wish to bring their own chairs.

  • Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry

    Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Mobile Food Pantry. Taking place on Thursday, June 12. Food distribution will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 550 families. Due to changes with Feeding America West Michigan, proxy pickup will be limited. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and have adequate space prepared in their trunk or back seat in advance to allow the distribution team
