Come join us for one more hike before the snow flies. The hike begins at the paved Sugarloaf parking lot on CR550 and proceeds to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain with its spectacular vistas of Lake Superior and the surrounding area. From the summit, the hike will descend along the NCT spur on the back side of Sugarloaf until it connects with the main NCT trail. Internationally known musical group, Floriani, to perform in Marquette St. Peter Cathedral concert slated for Saturday, Nov. 15   Renowned choral group Floriani will be at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette on Nov. 15 for a 7 p.m. concert. Admission is free. Freewill offerings will be accepted. Floriani is a men’s vocal quartet ensemble dedicated to performing and reviving sacred music. At their concert they offer a meditative experience as they perform an assortment of Gregorian chant, music from Eastern and Western traditions, and original pieces. Northern Michigan University’s Platform Personalities organization will host “An Evening with Anthony Ramos” on Monday, Nov. 17, in the Northern Center Grand Ballroom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free for NMU students (1 ticket per ID) and $5 for the general public. The singer and actor originated the dual role of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical and feature film Hamilton, which won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album and earned Ramos an Emmy nomination for his performance. Guitar virtuosos Richard Gilewitz and Tim May hit the Community Room stage to play selections from the recently released album, Gilewitz, featuring new voicings of Richard’s most beloved tunes as well as new releases. Richard has had an illustrious career, performing with the likes of the Indigo Girls, Kenny G., and Leo Kottke.
