  • Brass Queens to Perform at NMU

    Reynolds Recital Hall 2212 Hedgcock, Marquette, MI, United States

    Brass Queens, a female-led brass band from Brooklyn featuring all-female horns with a sound that is deeply inspired by the New Orleans tradition, will perform at Northern Michigan University. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in Reynolds Recital Hall.  Multiple brass instruments are featured in the group’s performances, including the sousaphone, trumpets, saxophones and trombones, along with other supporting instruments. Becoming a fixture in the local music scene and dubbed “the hardest working band in town,” the Brass Queens gained a dedicated following through outdoor performances on the streets of Brooklyn.
