Marquette County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) invites community members, partners, volunteers, and local leaders to attend a groundbreaking celebrating the start of a new affordable housing development at McClellan Meadows.  The groundbreaking will take place on Monday, June 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the McClellan Meadows development site, located on North McClellan Avenue between Wright Street and West Fair Avenue. The project marks an important step forward in addressing the growing need for affordable homeownership opportunities in Marquette County. Monday, June 22, 2026.  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.,  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Teens. In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. June’s Writer: Selah Tay-Song. A fiction/non-fiction writer, Tay-Song will guide writers in balancing interior writing (thoughts, feelings, exposition) with exterior details (sensory description and action) in your narrative prose.  Space is limited to 15 participants, so register early. The Miners Falls Trail within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will be temporarily closed to all visitors from Tuesday, June 23 until Thursday, June 25. Contractors will be conducting soil boring near the upper and lower viewing platforms to inform design plans for a new stair structure, anticipated to be installed in 2027. This temporary closure will not affect access to Miners Castle or Miners Beach.
