There will be limited painting shirts provided, it is recommended that participants wear clothes that can get messy. Monday, June 22, 2026.  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.,  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Adults, Seniors, Teens. In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. June’s Writer: Selah Tay-Song. A fiction/non-fiction writer, Tay-Song will guide writers in balancing interior writing (thoughts, feelings, exposition) with exterior details (sensory description and action) in your narrative prose.  Space is limited to 15 participants, so register early. The Miners Falls Trail within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will be temporarily closed to all visitors from Tuesday, June 23 until Thursday, June 25. Contractors will be conducting soil boring near the upper and lower viewing platforms to inform design plans for a new stair structure, anticipated to be installed in 2027. This temporary closure will not affect access to Miners Castle or Miners Beach. Want to download travel apps before you leave town? Need help utilizing the library’s Memory Lab or navigating Libby? Learn how to make your electronic devices work the way you want, with the help of Christine Ault, retired teacher and teach coach, Tuesday mornings from 10 AM – 3 PM during June, July and August in the Local History Research Room of the Peter White Public Library. Tuesdays & Thursdays June (9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Available at no cost to all youth (18 and under) and disabled adults up to age 26. Tuesdays, June (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) 2026.  6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Fridays, June (5, 12, 26) 2026.  Noon – 1:00 p.m. Peter White Public Library Heritage Room.  Mediate Marquette and PWPL have collaborated to offer two in-person mindfulness meditation programs each week this summer. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices.
