    FIND YOUR WILD at the WALK FOR THE WILD 5K Challenge at Seney National Wildlife Refuge. Join this nationwide event to celebrate the awe and wonder found on the more than 570 national wildlife refuges across the country, including Seney National Wildlife Refuge! Saturday, October 18. Registration will begin at 9:30, Walk starts at 10:00 a.m. The walk is free and open to everyone. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week, connect with community in the great outdoors, and boost physical and mental well-being.  A win-win-win!   • NCTA: Little Garlic River Falls Group Hike

    Take a hike with us through a beautiful forest of pines and hardwoods to the picturesque Little Garlic River Falls. The hike begins on Harrison Rd/Little Garlic Rd where the spur to the falls begins. We will be hiking the well defined, 1.2 mile trail to the falls. Upon returning on the same trail, we will then continue onto the Elliott Donnelly trail along the north bank of the Little Garlic River with vistas of the river below.     Northern Michigan University’s College of Graduate Studies and Research will host a Graduate Programs Fair from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 in the Northern Center Ballroom IV.  The Graduate Program Fair is a chance for anyone who is interested in master’s programs to learn about the degrees NMU offers and chat with graduate faculty and students who are enrolled in these programs.  At the event, attendees can find information about Northern’s 28 graduate programs offered both online and on campus, as well as the interdisciplinary program, which allows students to combine multiple areas of study into one degree.
