Tuesday, April 21 5:30 p.m.  The Negaunee Public Library is holding a “bring your own craft night” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, where the community is welcome to bring a craft they are working on or start a new one. This is an excellent way for the community to get together, share their hobbies, and have a dedicated place and time for creative flow. Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week online workshop, designed for the non-professional, informal family caregiver, will be held on Thursdays, March 19 through April 23, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm (Eastern) via Zoom. Research studies find high rates of depression and anxiety among caregivers and increased vulnerability to health problems. Caregivers frequently cite restriction of personal activities and social life as problems. In addition, caregivers often feel a lack of control over events and a sense of powerlessness which can have a significant negative impact on their physical and emotional health. Thursday, April 23 3:30-5:30 p.m.  The Negaunee Public Library will hold a drop-in craft event for kids ages 5 and up from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23. Children can stop by to create something fun to take home. Youngsters ages 7 and under must be accompanied by a caring adult; older youth who are unaccompanied must be able to provide a caring adult’s phone number in case of emergency. This event is free. Wednesday, April 29 5:30 p.m.  The Negaunee Public Library will host Tyler Vertin, a financial advisor, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, as he presents how attendees can outsmart the scammers. Incidents of financial fraud are on the rise. Learn how to spot certain red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter; learn about resources to use if you become a victim of fraud; and discover steps to take to protect your finances. Thursday, April 30. 3:30-4:30 p.m.  Youth ages 5 and up are welcome to participate in a weekly building club, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30. Kids will discuss a topic that will be the focus of their creations, and then have time to build with blocks such as LEGO bricks. Participants can have their creations displayed in the library until the following meeting.
