Marquette Area Sister Cities Partnership to Host Delegation from Higashiomi Japan
The Marquette Area Sister Cities Partnership is proud to announce the 2026 incoming delegation from our sister city Higashiomi, Japan, celebrating our 47th year of sister city relations. A delegation of seven Higashiomi citizens will arrive in Marquette on July 19 and depart on July 29, 2026, Our seven delegates are the Deputy Mayor, a Higashiomi City Council member, Higashiomi City Staff, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Higashiomi International Exchange Association, and Higashiomi citizens. Hospice Foundation is excited to announce that tickets will go on sale for the general public on July 20th for its signature annual fundraiser, A Night Under the Big Top – presented by Dancing with Our Stars Marquette County Style, taking place Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Kaufman Auditorium. After ten years of entertaining sold-out audiences, this year’s production introduces an exciting new circus-inspired theme that promises an unforgettable evening of music, dance, theatrical performances, dazzling costumes, and larger-than-life entertainment—all while supporting compassionate Hospice care for families throughout Marquette County. Three baby dinosaurs are about to hatch—and you get a front-row seat! This interactive puppet show brings the prehistoric world roaring to life as adorable baby dinosaur puppets crack out of their eggs during the live performance. Through fun storytelling, audience participation, and plenty of dino-mite moments, you’ll explore different dinosaur species, ancient ecosystems, and the exciting world of paleontology. It’s an egg-cellent blend of education and entertainment that’s perfect for young dinosaur enthusiasts! Youth of all ages welcome, under 8 must have an adult present in the show with them.

PWPL Presents: Writers on Writing: Cindy Hunter Morgan & the Artist Book

In this new programming series, seasoned published authors of various genres lead participants through writing exercises and workshops to hone their writerly talents. July’s Writer: Cindy Hunter Morgan. An acclaimed Michigan Notable Book author and fiber artist, Cindy will lead a two-day workshop in which participants create and bind a collaborative artist book. Baraga Ave, Marquette, MI for the following purposes. 1. Request for current year only for poverty exemptions, but not poverty exemptions denied by the March Board of Review. 2. Correct clerical errors or mutual mistake of facts. All required forms and documentation shall be received five days prior to said meeting.
