  Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will stage Ctrl+Alt+Delete, a darkly comic look at tech startups, speculative investment, and the value we assign to ideas in a rapidly evolving economy. The production runs Oct. 30-Nov. 2 and Nov. 6-9 in NMU’s Panowski Black Box Theatre. Set during the tech boom of the late 1990s, Ctrl+Alt+Delete follows wunderkind Eddie Fisker, a young tech developer who teams up with a visionary entrepreneur to launch a revolutionary new app. As the startup gains traction, the team becomes increasingly disconnected from the ethical and real-world consequences of their creation. Saturday, November 1, 2025.  10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Peter White Public Library, George Shiras III Room.  Four mindfulness meditation and yoga teachers invite you to engage in a year of mindful living. Each month, one of the teachers will present a topic that addresses the different dimensions where we can practice mindfulness and presence. The intent is for us to cultivate mindfulness, care, and well-being individually and in our love, business, and social relationships. Saturday, November 1, 2025  NMU Northern Center, 1401 Presque Isle Ave, Marquette MI 49855 Plaque Unveiling- 5:00 p.m. U.P. Hall of Fame display, NMU dome Program- 6:00 p.m. in the NMU Northern Center   Trade unionists, family and friends will gather to induct: IBEW Local 906 member, Tom Hogan and AFSCME member, Don Maki into the Upper Peninsula Labor Hall of Fame. The inductees are being recognized for their lifelong dedication to improving the lives of working men and women in the Upper Peninsula. 

November 3-29.  Peter White Public Library is once again partnering with the TV6 Canathon to help feed our hungry neighbors. From November 3 – 29, the library will serve as a collection point for food items to help stock our local food pantries. As an added incentive to donate, the library is offering Food for Fines, a program that allows library users to resolve overdue fines with the donation of non-perishable food items. For each non-perishable food item brought to the library’s circulation desk, $1.00 in overdue library fines will be forgiven. There is no limit to the dollar amount
