Thursday, April 2, 2026.  10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room. Join Ms. Holli for a special family storytime during MAPS spring break! Families with children of all ages will enjoy this storytime with interactive stories, songs, and more. There will be a springtime dot painting craft available following storytime. Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week online workshop, designed for the non-professional, informal family caregiver, will be held on Thursdays, March 19 through April 23, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm (Eastern) via Zoom. Research studies find high rates of depression and anxiety among caregivers and increased vulnerability to health problems. Caregivers frequently cite restriction of personal activities and social life as problems. In addition, caregivers often feel a lack of control over events and a sense of powerlessness which can have a significant negative impact on their physical and emotional health. Saturday, April 4, 2026.  10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Peter White Public Library, George Shiras III Room.  Four mindfulness meditation and yoga teachers invite you to engage in a year of mindful living. Each month, one of the teachers will present a topic that addresses the different dimensions where we can practice mindfulness and presence. The intent is for us to cultivate mindfulness, care, and well-being individually and in our love, business, and social relationships. Kids of all ages are welcome – the techniques used will be adaptable for kids of all ages and abilities. All supplies provided, drop-in program. Monday, April 6 1 p.m.  In conjunction with Homeschool Hangout, the Negaunee Public Library will hold a graphic novel book club interest meeting at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6. Homeschool and nontraditionally schooled youth (such as online students) ages 10-18 are invited to attend and share ideas, decide meeting dates and times, and choose books for the group to read at this meeting. April 7 5 p.m. As part of the Negaunee Public Library’s “Readers Dozen Book Challenge,” the library is hosting an optional book club for all participants at 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. The April meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 7, in the youth area. Participants are welcome to enjoy refreshments, share what they’ve been reading, swap recommendations for the coming month, and connect with fellow readers.
