This year’s Marquette July 4th Parade is special since we celebrate our Nation’s 250th Birthday. The theme for the Parade is One Nation Indivisible – 250 Years. Parade start time: 2pm at McClellan and Washington. Attendees should plan to arrive at 1:15 pm or earlier as the nearby streets are closed then. Parade Float Line up time: 1pm. Youth of all ages welcome. Monday, July 6, 2026, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Shiras Room.  Teens, Family, Adults, Seniors. Join fiber artist Lydia Taylor for a Beginner Punch Needle Workshop. Learn basic punch needle skills and leave with your very own handmade punch needle project. Starter kits provided. Space is limited to ten participants, so register early.  No admission charge. Tuesdays & Thursdays July (2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30), 2026.  11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Lower Level Lobby.  PWPL is once again partnering with Feeding America West Michigan in the Gather2Grow summer meals program and will serve as a pickup site for shelf stable meals. Want to download travel apps before you leave town? Need help utilizing the library’s Memory Lab or navigating Libby? The Northern Michigan University Department of Music will present a second season of Its series, Summer Concerts at Reynolds (SCR). This year’s events will all take place at 5 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall on Tuesdays in July and August. Admission is free, though donations will be gratefully accepted, with all proceeds benefiting the department to enhance the experience for students. This summer, SCR is highlighting music department faculty members, who are highly trained professional musicians as well as full-time educators. They will present both solo and group performances. Sessions will include a combination of talks, seated meditation, and movement practices.
