Dollar Bay Preschool registration is open! Children who will be 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to be a part of this outstanding program. The Dollar Bay Preschool follows the school year calendar, from the second week of September through the first week of June, and class is in session 8:25-3:30 Monday through Thursday each week, with free breakfast, snack, and lunch provided every day. Interested parents can simply go to the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City School website for the links to register. The Houghton High School Alumni Association will hold a Pancake & Sausage breakfast, on Saturday August 2nd, 2025, serving 8:30am – 11:30am, featuring Vollwerth’s sausage, traditional and blueberry pancakes, and Shelby’s Finnish pancakes, w fruit, and beverages, adults $10, reduced pricing for youth at the door. No cost for preschool children. Courtney Lake Horse Camp and Ride August 9, 2025 ride with MI-TRALE equestrians members on the beautiful Courtney Lake Trails and Campground. The 14 miles of mostly sandy trails takes you through a diverse forest landscape, around and near two lakes and across the Firesteel River. Six of the 21 campsites are set up for horses with corrals. 42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site this Sunday, August 17th to experience a piece of history at the 42nd Annual Craft Fair. The free event will take place on the grounds of the historic copper mining village just outside of Rockland from 10 am to 5 pm. Three of the four restored cabins and the sauna will be open for self-guided tours free of charge for the event.
