August abounds with outdoor summer fun The DNR offers a variety of ways to enjoy Michigan’s natural and cultural resources next month, so get ready to soak up some summer fun! Here’s just a sampling – get the full list at Michigan.gov/DNRCalendar. Free ORV Weekend   Residents and out-of-state visitors legally can ride Michigan’s 4,000 miles of off-road vehicle trails and routes and the state’s six scramble areas on two back-to-back days (Aug. 16-17) without an ORV license or trail permit. Rockland – 42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair

42nd Annual Old Victoria Craft Fair Visit the Old Victoria Historical Site this Sunday, August 17th to experience a piece of history at the 42nd Annual Craft Fair. The free event will take place on the grounds of the historic copper mining village just outside of Rockland from 10 am to 5 pm. Three of the four restored cabins and the sauna will be open for self-guided tours free of charge for the event. As you step into the hand-hewn log cabins, you can see how the miners and their families lived. Tour guides will be available to share the
