Dollar Bay Preschool registration is open! Children who will be 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to be a part of this outstanding program. The Dollar Bay Preschool follows the school year calendar, from the second week of September through the first week of June, and class is in session 8:25-3:30 Monday through Thursday each week, with free breakfast, snack, and lunch provided every day. Interested parents can simply go to the Dollar Bay-Tamarack City School website for the links to register. Wild Ones Native Plant Sale The Wild Ones Keweenaw chapter is offering a selection of over two dozen native plants to get you gardening for butterflies, birds, and pollinators. Visit the shop at keweenaw.wildones.org and place your order. You can then pick up your plants in Houghton. The deadline getting your plants is July 23. In addition to native classics like common milkweed, lance-leaf coreopsis and wild bergamot, Wild Ones is offering some species for the first time, including blue false indigo and western sunflower. Canal Run celebrating 50th Anniversary in 2025 The Canal Run, a beloved annual tradition in Hancock, Michigan, is proud to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. July 24th – Mat Moore – Charles H. Worcester, Artist and Chassell Lumberman   7pm – Chassell Heritage Center   In the early 1900s, Worcester owned the Chassell Sawmill and maintained a summer residence until his death in the 1950s.  His main residence was in Chicago where he was a major benefactor of the Art Institute of Chicago.  This talk will explore his ties to both Chassell and Chicago.
