• UP Wild Wilderness Walk

    UP Wild in the Keweenaw would like to announce its upcoming monthly event. UP Wild Wilderness Walk – “Foraging with Faith” Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chassell (Gather at the campfire ring at the back of the northside parking lot.) The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages, including families and children. No religious affiliation is necessary. Everyone is welcome!

  • CPR Training

    Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department Twin Lakes, Michigan

    Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting CPR Training on Monday, September 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. Training costs $55 per person, with a maximum capacity of eight people.   The American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED/Blended Learning training program includes first aid, CPR and AED instruction in a preliminary online course (that will take about two hours to complete), followed by a hands-on, in-person skills session with trainers that will take about two hours.   Registration is open now at coppershores.org. Registration will close when it is full.

    On Saturday, September 19, the Marquette County Suicide Prevention Alliance, along with several community organizations, businesses, and community members, will gather for the annual Marquette Cunty Walk for Hope to benefit local suicide prevention and postvention programming in Marquette Cunty.  The annual walk will be held in person in Ishpeming at Al Quaal.   The Walk Committee urges all community members to attend to honor the spirit of the event and recognize the importance of suicide prevention while supporting suicide loss survivors, attempt survivors, and the families and loved ones of those who struggle.   Community members are encouraged to
