The community is invited to gather for the 2025 Michigan Tech Parade of Nations on Saturday, September 20, starting at 11:00 a.m. This year’s event promises vibrant cultural displays, music, food, and performances celebrating the many nations represented in the Keweenaw.   🎉 The Parade The parade will begin at the J.R. Van Pelt and Opie Library on the Michigan Tech campus. The Keweenaw Lions Club is now selling tickets for their Lake Superior Cruise fundraiser aboard the Isle Royale Queen IV.  Limited tickets are $30 each and are already selling quickly.  Cruise will depart from the Isle Royale Queen Dock in Copper Harbor, Sunday September 21.  The two hour tour will begin boarding at 1:30pm with a 2:00pm departure.  Destination is weather dependent.  Snacks, coffee and soft drinks will be served on board, BYOB.  For tickets, call Marty at (906) 281-5557.  All proceeds will go toward local charities.   If you are unable to make the voyage but would like to make

Baraga County Communities That Care invites the community to join us for a powerful evening of awareness, remembrance, and hope at the Paint the Field Blue event on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the L’Anse High School football field, home of the L’Anse Hornets.   This special high school football game will highlight suicide prevention efforts in our community. In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, players will wear blue socks and cheerleaders will wear blue bows—the color symbolizing suicide awareness and prevention. UP Wild in the Keweenaw would like to announce its upcoming monthly event. Wilderness Walk Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Calumet Lions Park The Wilderness Walks are opportunities to connect with God and each other in an outdoor natural setting.  Each walk has a leader who will guide the walk and stop along the way for readings and reflection.  The walks are appropriate for all ages including families and children. Everyone is welcome, no religious affiliation is necessary.
