THE ANNUAL AGATE BEACH JAMBOREE WILL BE HELD THIS WEEKEND, SATURDAY AUGUST 1 AND SUNDAY AUGUST 2, ON LAKE SUPERIOR AT THE STANTON TOWNSHIP PARK IN TOIVOLA MUSIC STARTS AT 1:00 BOTH DAYS. THERE WILL BE A SIGN-UP SHEET FOR MUSICIANS TO PERFORM 30 MINUTE SETS. SOUND SYSTEM PROVIDED. THERE WILL BE FOOD AVAILABLE IN THE HALL. BRING YOUR OWN LAWN CHAIR. AND ENJOY!

The Wild Ones Keweenaw Chapter is holding its late summer plant sale online at keweenaw.wildones.org. More than two dozen species are available, including scarlet bee balm, purple coneflower, and Jack in the pulpit, plus two different mini-gardens for monarch butterflies. The annual Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club Gem and Mineral Show will be held again this year at a new location: the Hancock Middle School at 501 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI across from Portage Hospital. Show dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday August 7, 8 and 9. An array of vendors will have gems, minerals, fossils, copper, and gift items for sale. Each day the CCRMC will hold ongoing silent auctions of local mineral and copper samples.
