GITIGE he/she gardens   VOLUNTEER WITH US Debweyendan Believe in it People’s Gardens Saturdays:  9 am – Noon   2026 Season Dates June 27 July 11 & 25 August 8 & 22 September 12 & 26 October 10 & 24   Lots of ways to help with gardening, including mulching, weeding, harvesting, pruning, and watering.  In appreciation of your assistance, you can select a high-quality garden tool or a gardening book whenever you engage.  Everyone is welcome, including beginners.   Our community Teaching Garden, located at 16037 Brewery Road in L’Anse, is cared for by the KBIC natural Resources Department. 

The Ontonagon Rural Electrification Association (REA) is preparing for its annual member meeting. The meeting will take place on Saturday, June 27th at 10 am at the Chassell High School. There will be lunch provided and prizes, but please note that this meeting is for members of the REA only.

Take a step into the past on Sunday, June 28th at Old Victoria’s Log Cabin Day Heritage Celebration, taking place from 11 am to 5 pm EST.   The free event celebrates Michigan’s Log Cabin Day with an open house of the restored miner’s cabins that were originally built in 1899 to house workers of the Victoria Copper Mining Company. Visitors can hear stories of the lives of the miners and their families while touring the restored hand hewn log cabins and grounds.   The day features fresh, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls that are baked on site by volunteers in the

Baraga County Memorial Hospital – Join us for an important Baraga Community Listening Session   WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!   Join BCMH Hospital leadership on Tuesday, June 30th at 5:00 p.m. at the Ojibwa Senior Center in Baraga.  During this meeting, we will discuss the services that BCMH offers and encourage discussion about potential areas for improvement and growth.   Free & Open to the public – Light snacks provided.
