In this hands-on workshop, you will: Learn the fundamentals of linocut printmaking. Develop carving skills. Experiment with different inking and printing techniques.

Copper Country Community Band Announces Summer Concert Series The Copper Country Community Band is proud to present a series of five summer concerts across the Keweenaw. Under the direction of Amy Johnson and Micah Erickson, this all-volunteer group of approximately 35 musicians from across the Copper Country will bring audiences a lively mix of marches, classic concert band repertoire, and popular medleys. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. – All concerts are free to attend. Donations are gratefully accepted at the other concerts, with the concert on Thursday, August 28 specifically going towards the Houghton County Road Commission, to raise funds

The first Fall meeting of the Michigan Association of School Personnel, Houghton-Keweenaw Chapter (MARSP) will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd at Gino’s in Hancock. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 pm followed by a buffet lunch. The guest speaker is Kathleen Harter. director of Meals on Wheels. All members are encouraged to attend.
